The final results of PROSPARE have largely achieved the scientific and technological objectives, with an encouraging measure of the post-project exploitation potentiality. A small but significant step to contribute in a better proteinic sustainable nutrition for our planet.
The progressive project's outcomings have been disseminated and demonstrated mostly to the primary target communities (scientific, food & feed industry, interest groups and sectorial press) with an overall appreciation, generating extended awareness at large internationally.
Most of the international key industries contacted for the dissemination & demo activity showed clear interest for post-project exploitation opportunities based on the PROSPARE innovative methods and technologies to be adopted in their industries.
The first pilot production plants (Symbol in Russia and Proliver in Belgium) have achieved the required hi-standard of full productivity and green sustainability, by supplying premium FAP and FFP products for early market appreciation. See an abstract of the Proliver implementation. Advanced developments for further installations of the new technology are also in progress. In parallel, pilot production of bio-diesel has been demonstrated by VITO.
Finally, the 3 years project experienced an extraordinary fruitful cooperation among the European and the Russian participants' teams with a common crucial objective.
In the final workshop organized at the European Parliament the 29.9.2011, the Commission congratulated for the achievements of excellence in scientific and in pre-exploitation by PROSPARE.
